Falcata
Epic Armoury's Falcata takes its cues from the weapons carried by ancient Iberian mercenaries, giving this single-edged latex-hybrid sword an axe-like blade profile capable of heavy, chopping blows while its extended edge still handles thrusts and jabs. Hand-painted to mimic steel, wood, and gold trim, the whole piece is built by hand, and the hooked 3.9 in grip is molded with fine detail true to the original weapon's form.
A 0.28 in fiberglass core sits inside the closed cell foam blade, sealed under a durable latex coat for safety, while the maintenance-free polyurethane grip keeps this sword ready for many seasons of play.
- Available in 23.6 in, 33.5 in, and 39.4 in lengths
History
- Ancient Iberians were the original users of this weapon
- The name "falcata" is actually a 19th-century coinage used to describe the blade's shape
