RFB Defender
This medium-sized fantasy sword in the Ready For Battle line runs 29.5 in from pommel to tip and carries a well-balanced blade beneath a butterfly-shaped crossguard. A short ricasso near the guard shields the fingers during certain historical maneuvers, and the ergonomic handle wears a 15th-century Italian-inspired pommel. Though sculpted and hand-painted to resemble leather, the grip actually needs no leather upkeep at all.
Ready For Battle gear from Epic Armoury is priced and styled to suit newer or younger players without skimping on looks. The Defender is one of the line's hybrid builds: a polyurethane-cast handle delivers extra detail with zero maintenance, while the blade itself is closed-cell foam over a fiberglass core, sealed in a tough latex coating.
