CQ Undead Full Legs - P. Steel/Black
Cuisses guard the lower thighs, poleyns cover the knees, and short demi-greaves protect the upper shins in this leg armor set from Epic Armoury -- the "arrow to the knee" joke won't apply to you, and your adventuring career should last longer for it. The austere styling leans toward a dark, serious character with less-than-honorable intentions, which fits its origin: it was designed for ConQuest's Undead Flesh NPC faction, though nothing stops you from working it into your own character concept.
Three leather straps hold each piece in place -- one around the thigh, one below the knee, and one that ties to a belt. Galvanized 0.04 in mild steel with full grain leather straps and fittings gives it the durability for LARP or reenactment use, provided you keep up regular leather and metal care. Pair it with the CQ Undead Arm & Leg Protection Set for complete coverage.
History
- Plate armor spread as firearms grew more common through the 13th century
- Sculpted ridges and overlapping plates historically reinforced protection and deflected blows in the chaos of battle
- Serves as the standard uniform for Undead Flesh, an NPC faction within the ConQuest setting
