Gobbo Shield
The Gobbo Shield is a light, flat latex piece from Epic Armoury finished with dark wood and steel detailing. Its outline is shaped like a waning crescent moon, topped with a hand-painted steel rim, shield boss, and Maltese cross. Detailed brass studs fasten the metal elements to a wood-look base, textured and painted to mimic realistic grain, and a full grain leather strap secures it firmly to the arm.
A comfortable punch-grip rounds out the build, which combines hard EVA foam and latex to withstand repeated LARP combat as long as you keep up with regular latex maintenance. Bring the Gobbo Shield to the fight and make it part of your style.
History
- Round wooden style was predominantly used in the early European Middle Ages using light, non-splintering wood such as linden, fir, alder or poplar
- Iron rim was sometimes used as a way to reinforce the shield
