Shield of Lionidas - Bronze - 27.6 in
The legendary Greek stand against the Persian Empire's vast armies inspired this concave 27.6 in shield from Epic Armoury. Its bronze finish is hand-painted and sculpted with dents and scrapes suggesting years of combat, and a capital lambda, the V-shaped Spartan emblem, sits carved dead-center on the face. A single leather grip plus an adjustable arm strap on the reverse let it be carried in either hand, both anchored through hard EVA foam for a firm, lasting hold. Keep up with regular latex maintenance and this shield will handle sustained LARP combat.
History
- Modeled on the Spartan chalkaspis, a round bronze shield bearing the same lambda emblem
- Built for bashing opponents and holding formation in a shield wall
