Rillet Rapier - Vanguard
Part of Epic Armoury's Vanguard line, the Rillet Rapier draws its design from Renaissance rapiers, but rather than the thin, ornamental blades favored at European courts, it is built like the rapiers meant for battle and war. The guard protects both the top of the hand, like a normal crossguard, and the fingers, like a basket hilt. A grooved handle improves grip, while the chappe (rain guard) sits inside the crossguard with crawling-vine engravings that are echoed on the pommel's globe. The blade is closed cell polyurethane foam, colored for a lifelike finish. Like the rest of the Vanguard line, it needs virtually no maintenance beyond the occasional check for cuts or wear.
