Landsknecht Spaulders
Epic Armoury's Landsknecht Spaulders are a striking example of functional pageantry, shoulder armor that delivers both battlefield practicality and theatrical presence. Inspired by the flamboyant mercenaries of the 16th century, they round out the Landsknecht silhouette with a bold, layered profile and a wide range of motion.
Four overlapping lames per pauldron follow the curve of the upper arm for natural movement in combat, anchored by a prominent shoulder dome. A sculpted besagew plate protects the armpit and adds visual distinction, echoing late-medieval armor traditions.
Forged from 0.04 in thick steel, the spaulders suit LARP, reenactment, and theatrical use, holding up under pressure without sacrificing mobility thanks to their articulated build. They pair with a gorget or cuirass, attaching via straps or lacing at the shoulder, and blend seamlessly into a full Landsknecht Armour Set or work just as well elevating a simpler kit.
