Its pleated hem flows with natural weight, giving the illusion of motion even standing still, while floral cutwork trim across the hem adds a touch of whimsy without becoming overdone. Long tie-straps front and back let you control the fit, pulled in close or loosened depending on how many layers sit underneath.

The exterior is brushed wool, warm and textured on the outside, gentle against the skin on the inside. It drapes well over a chemise or shift — like the Shift Giulia or Smock Violet — and holds its shape all day.
The Kampfrau Dress draws on 16th-century fashion, particularly the styles worn by working-class women and camp followers: practical rather than plain, with just enough structure to feel fitted without restricting movement, whether you're on your feet all day or dancing into the evening.
