Braies - Long
The Starting Point of Any Medieval Outfit
Epic Armoury's Braies come first. Long before the tunic and hose go on, this unassuming undergarment was worn across centuries by warriors, peasants, artisans, and nobles alike, a subtle presence from the council room to the campfire. Whether gearing up for LARPing, reenactment, or simply looking for a comfortable base for medieval attire, these braies fill a gap most kits are missing.
A Staple in Medieval Clothing
Braies were common across early, high, and late medieval Europe, the foundational piece worn beneath chausses, hosen, or anything else. With a drawstring waist, wide leg openings, and loose fit, this version follows that same historical logic: easy to wear, simple to tie, roomy enough to move naturally through the day. The calf-length cut pairs especially well with split hosen, keeping things decent, layered, and historically grounded.
Light Cotton Comfort, Everyday Fit
Made from a soft, lightweight cotton casement fabric, the Braies - Long are built for breathability and long wear. Natural off-white makes them easy to pair with any outerwear, from peasant tunics to noble coats, and the cut gives coverage without bulk — comfortable enough that you'll barely notice them under multiple layers of wool and leather.
Made to Layer, Ready to Work
These braies aren't just for lounging, though they do that well too. They're built to layer beneath hosen or chausses, which often leave the crotch exposed when not fully joined, making this a practical piece of medieval underwear for anyone after historical accuracy, modesty, or simple comfort under heavy gear.
Quiet, Functional, and Unassuming
There's no decoration here, just an honest piece of kit that does its job — a natural fit for soldiers on campaign, monks in meditation, or tavern-goers getting dressed in the morning, and a reliable base for every character's clothing chest.
