Captain Gorget - Light Kit

A Polyurea (PU) reproduction of Epic Armoury's mild steel Captain Gorget, protecting the neck and upper chest with the same commanding profile at a fraction of the weight. The piece wraps the throat with a standing collar and flares across the collarbones and upper back, opening at one shoulder for easy fitting and closing securely once in place — a strong foundation for the rest of the Captain range.

Molding rather than forging cuts the weight dramatically, making this a solid pick for long event days, junior fighters, and performers chasing the steel look minus the strain. Leather tabs at the shoulder fasten it in place, and lacing along the lower edge dials in an adjustable fit; it pairs with the rest of the Captain range, including the Cuirass, Pauldrons, Belt Shields, Arm Protection, and Leg Protection.

Features

  • Molded PU delivers a dramatically lighter weight than the steel original
  • A standing collar with flared front and back plates mirrors the steel version
  • Riveted plate detailing gives it an authentic forged look
  • Leather shoulder tabs and lower-edge lace adjustment lock in a secure fit
  • Pairs with the full Captain range
  • Color: Epic Dark
  • Sizes: S-M, L-XL

Fit, adjustment & care

Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.

  • Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
  • Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
  • Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
  • A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armor's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
