Shoulder Plate Merc - Light Kit

Epic Armoury's Shoulder Plate Merc is a set of two PU shoulder guards with spaulders. Each spaulder layers three ridged PU plates, or lames, over one another for laminate protection of the upper arms, fastened with leather straps around the biceps and at the shoulder blade to attach to a breastplate, gorget, or gambeson (sold separately).

These shoulder plates are designed to match Epic Armoury's Mercenary Armour but work equally well with other Epic Armoury armor pieces, giving you freedom to customize your character's kit. Made from form-molded PU (Polyurea) with leather straps and fittings, this piece is built to withstand LARP or ren faire use with regular leather care for the straps.

  • Two PU shoulder guards with spaulders cover both shoulders fully
  • Form-molded PU (Polyurea) construction stays rigid and durable
  • Leather straps and fittings fasten around the biceps and shoulder blade
  • Attaches to a breastplate, gorget, or gambeson (sold separately)
  • Color: Steel Gray
  • Sizes: S-M, L-XL

Fit, adjustment & care

Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.

  • Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
  • Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
  • Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
  • A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armor's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
