Torso Armour Merc - Light Kit
This hybrid cuirass pairs a high-density polyurea front plate with a durable leather backing, delivering breastplate-level coverage at a fraction of the weight -- and none of the upkeep -- of a traditional metal chest piece, all while staying built for mobility and period style.
The polyurea front focuses protection over the thorax and ribcage, its lower edge shaped to sit comfortably over the hips and guard the pelvis. Leather at the shoulders and sides anchors it to a sturdy backplate, keeping the fit stable and adjustable whether it's worn over a gambeson or an arming doublet.

Fit, adjustment & care
Most sizing comes from the strap system itself, but you can heat-shape the material for a closer fit. Direct heat at the inside surface rather than the painted exterior -- that way the piece softens enough to reshape without harming the finish.
- Finish: Underneath the paint, the base material is black, so scuffs and wear over time may show that color through.
- Easy touch-ups: Small scuffs or scratches can be fixed at home with primer and acrylic hobby paint, such as Army Painter or Citadel.
- Leather care: Treat the straps like any full-grain leather item -- occasional conditioning keeps them supple over time.
- A living finish: Expect wear and patina to build up naturally with use, adding to the piece's battle-worn character.
