Milanese Armour - Light Kit

The Milanese Armour (Light Kit) brings the aesthetic of classic 15th-century Italian armor to the field with a focus on agility. High-density polyurea gives this cuirass the polished look of traditional steel armor while remaining significantly lighter and more flexible, ideal for a high-fantasy, knightly appearance without the weight or maintenance of metal plates.

The cuirass is sculpted for focused torso protection, featuring an integrated beveled chest plate designed to deflect incoming attacks, finished with a high-gloss, polished aesthetic that upgrades any character kit instantly. Because it's made from durable polyurea, it's entirely rust-proof, dent-resistant, and needs no oiling or polishing to keep its pristine look.

Robust full grain leather straps secure the cuirass for a comfortable fit over a gambeson or arming doublet. It's fully compatible with Epic Armoury's faulds and tassets, letting you build a custom harness suited to your role, whether noble defender or traveling knight.

Why it is worth adding to your kit

  • High-density polyurea: the look of polished steel at a fraction of the weight
  • No maintenance needed: naturally rust- and dent-resistant, built for rough outdoor play
  • Beveled chest plate designed into the defensive geometry to deflect strikes
  • Ergonomic shaping sculpted to the torso for structural strength and a clean line
  • Modular compatibility: pairs easily with faulds, tassets, and other Epic Armoury plate elements
  • Full grain leather straps for a secure, historical-feeling fit
  • Sizes: M, L, XL

Fit, adjustment & care

Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.

  • Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
  • Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
  • Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
  • A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armor's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
