Faulds & Tassets - Light Kit

Epic Armoury's Faulds and Tassets protect the waist, hip, and upper thigh from attacks that might leave you off balance, wounded, and vulnerable, now molded in Polyurea (PU) at a fraction of the steel weight. This armor limits your weak spots without limiting mobility, thanks to the articulated bottom plate — don't be an easy target for archers and rogues.

Because it's molded rather than forged, the weight drops dramatically, making it ideal for long event days, junior fighters, and performers who want the steel look without the strain. Two adjustable straps over the shoulders and another around the waist secure the piece, designed to be comfortable for almost any size, with a top grain leather belt and canvas straps for easy, lightweight adjustment.

Features

  • Molded PU delivers a dramatically lighter weight than the steel original
  • Guards the waist, hip, and upper thigh
  • An articulated bottom plate keeps you mobile without leaving weak spots exposed
  • Two shoulder straps plus a waist strap fit almost any size
  • Full grain leather belt with canvas straps for quick adjustment
  • Naturally rust- and dent-resistant with zero oiling or polishing needed
  • Color: Epic Gray

Fit, adjustment & care

Most of the fit comes from the strap system itself, but for an even closer fit, you can gently reshape the material with heat — apply it to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior so the material softens without harming the finish.

  • Finish: The base material beneath the painted surface is black, so scratches and general wear may eventually reveal this black layer underneath.
  • Easy touch-ups: Minor scuffs or scratches are simple to fix at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
  • Leather care: Treat the leather straps like any other full-grain leather product, conditioning them occasionally to keep them supple and long-lasting.
  • A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armor's lifecycle, adding to its authentic, battle-worn character over time.
