Milanese Complete Armour Set - Light Kit

The Light Kit Milanese Armour Set delivers the complete head-to-thigh silhouette of a 15th-century Italian knight in four matched pieces. Every component is high-density polyurea, giving you the polished look of forged steel while cutting the weight dramatically — and since polyurea won't rust, dent, or need polishing, the set stays event-ready season after season.

Each piece straps on with an adjustable leather fastening that keeps it locked in place through combat, so protection stays consistent from the first bout to the last. Everything layers over a gambeson and works alongside other Epic Armoury gear, letting you tailor the kit to your needs.

The set is built from four pieces:

  • Light Kit Milanese Cuirass: covers the torso with a built-in beveled chest plate that turns aside incoming strikes.
  • Light Kit Milanese Pauldrons: overlapping plates shield the shoulders and upper arms, with an extra vertical plate on the left shoulder guarding the head. A chain pin lets you mount insignia or heraldry.
  • Light Kit Milanese Couters: a curved, riveted shelf protects the elbow and surrounding arm, catching and redirecting blows away from the joint. Sold in pairs and fastened via eyelets to your padded underlayer.
  • Light Kit Faulds and Tassets: an articulated bottom plate guards the waist, hips, and upper thighs while keeping you mobile, secured with adjustable shoulder and waist straps and a full grain leather belt.
  • Available in sizes Medium, Large, and Xlarge

Fit, adjustment & care

The strap system on each piece handles most of the fit on its own, and where a closer fit is needed, the material itself can be reshaped with heat.

  • Heat-shaping for a custom fit: apply heat to the inside (back) of a piece, never the painted exterior, to gently reshape the material without damaging the finish.
  • Finish: the black base material sits under the painted surface, so scuffs and wear may eventually show through as black patches.
  • Simple touch-ups: fix minor scuffs or scratches at home with a primer and acrylic hobby paint, such as Army Painter or Citadel.
  • Leather care: condition the leather straps occasionally, the same as you would any full-grain leather product, to keep them supple.
  • A living finish: expect wear and patina to build up naturally with use, adding to the piece's authentic, battle-worn character.
